Take him off the list.....
What do you guys think of Schwarber and Ketel Marte?
Love Schwarber. Perfect fit, only 29 and the left handed power you are looking for.

Never heard of Ketel Marte. ;)

He would be great but under control for 3 more years at $8-10M so he would cost a fortune in prospects.
We may actually want to give some thought to Chris Taylor. Not spectacular but solid and versatile.

That would be a really bizarre reunion but yeah, all FA bats should be on the table. Imagine both Marte and Taylor in the lineup next season.

Yes Marte at 2B sounds great.
but here is mine
No year of "adjusting" just starts off and hits from the get.

Kelenic keeps repeating his last month and you have a dynamic duo.
JULIO vs. AA .362 .461 .546 1.007
So let's draw this up Julio and Kelenic "pop" next year.
1. JP SS 100 OPS+ L SS
2. France 125 OPS+R 1B
3. Haniger 125 OPS+ R OF
4 Schwarber 135 OPS+ L DH
5. Donaldson 125 OPS+ R 3B
6. Kelenic 140 OPS+ L OF
7. Julio 140 OPS+ R OF
8 Murphy 100 OPS+ R C
9. Toro 100 OPS+ S 2B
Bench: Lewis 120 OPS+R OF, Dilly Super utility, C Cal S or TorrensR, then probably Fraley
That line-up looks long and strong. Maybe Lewis starts the year but yep. Torrens needs to work his ass off learning how to Catch. Even Toro and JP might break out next year for more + players.
And
of course Scherzer
Scherzer 160 ERA+ R
Marco 105 ERA+ L
Gilbert 90 ERA+ R
Flexen 115 ERA+ R
Dunn 110 ERA+ R
Gilbert in Sept-Oct pitched to a 2.7 ERA
Depth Justus, Marge, KIK if he pushes his option, Brash-Hancock-Kirby

You guys talked me into Schwarber. A good left-handed bat he will be 29.
Donaldson is a good bat that should not cast a lot in trade capital but still runs you 50/2.
Scherzer is that Ace to bring it all together
Last year
Starter fWAR and MLB Rankings
Chris Flexen – 3.0 fWAR (39)
Logan Gilbert – 2.2 fWAR (53)
Tyler Anderson – 2.2 fWAR (56)*
Yusei Kikuchi – 1.1 fWAR (82)
Marco Gonzales – 0.6 fWAR (95)
( He (Marco) was injured after the cold start but looked better at the end.)
Scherzer 5.4 FWAR (5)
Last year we had after getting Anderson. a #2,2,2,3,4
With Scherzer
We have that #1 that can shut down anybody any given day.

I would love nothing more than Schwarber, Scherzer and Bryant on this team next yr. my half empty glass suggests it ain’t happening. For one Jerry’s not giving up on Lewis who will take most of the Dh duties early on. Add in Jerry’s desire for Dh to be some kind of new resting zone for anyone else and say goodbye to Schwarber
Not giving up on Big Pussy who will likely drag us down early on and add in Kikuchi who will miraculosly be the answer early in spring training
Add it all up and we are staring at upgrades at second and or third

Hey Jay, Do you know where "Shooters" Bar and Grill on the lake is? If so my son in law's AB&B is almost directly across from it.

Kris Bryant worries me.

He hasn't been a true star player since 2016/2017.

He's gonna get a 7-8 year contract worth $25+ million a year, but is he worth it? I don't know if I want the M's forking out that kind of money to a guy who seems destined to hit in the low' 800's OPS wise more often than not and end up with 25 or so dingers. He seems like only a minimal upgrade to Seager w. the bat but a downgrade with the glove.

JRam! JRam! JRam!
