Well Isaiah Campbell was the real acquisition from that trade. Hopefully he can get and stay healthy next yearD-train wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 10:33 pmThis is who we got for him. Got shelled in Ark this season.

I feel like this has always been an important issue with Ms player development. Besides Seager and Felix, who was the last rookie we developed that flourished here?

Re: The catching situation
not sure what it has to do with developing rookies, he was 27 and had appeared in over 200 ML games when the Mariners traded for him
Re: The catching situation
And only played in 1 season for the Mariners, and the Mariners were in the middle of a rebuild, and trading him have the opportunity for Nola to start, which then turned into France, Torrens, Trammell and Munoz. They also have Isaiah Campbell because of the trade. Mariners are better today because of the trade to NarvaezDonn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 2:06 pmnot sure what it has to do with developing rookies, he was 27 and had appeared in over 200 ML games when the Mariners traded for him

Re: The catching situation
Narvaez put up 1.5 bWAR this season, his improved defense seems to be better pitch framing which is becoming irrelevant anyway isn't it?
Re: The catching situation
The Mariners dont seem to have a club culture of nurturing growth. They seem to take a laissez-faire approach.

Yeah I don't understand this tweet at all. Narvaez was not a product of the M's system he was already a major leaguer when they got him and never spent a day in the minors for the M's. He was here for 1 season during which he posted career highs in batting average, OPS and WAR, none of which were as good this year. How is this an indictment on Mariners player development in any way? If anything they were able to get more out of him than either Chicago or Milwaukee did.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 2:06 pmnot sure what it has to do with developing rookies, he was 27 and had appeared in over 200 ML games when the Mariners traded for him
