Another good case for going balls deep this offseasonSexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 8:16 pmI would think Seattle would try and get as many big pieces this offseason as they could, and to build the biggest winner possible. Not just because its our windows of contention opening up, but also because next year the All-Star game will be coming. The amount of revenue that will pour into the city along with the chances of fame to shine upon playing in Seattle should be extremely attractive.

JD hasn't even got the nerve up to hold hands yet....bpj wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 9:14 pmAnother good case for going balls deep this offseasonSexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 8:16 pmI would think Seattle would try and get as many big pieces this offseason as they could, and to build the biggest winner possible. As funny as it is I actually think Jerry will have a good offseason, even if it's not the obvious moves.D-train wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 9:27 pmJD hasn't even got the nerve up to hold hands yet....bpj wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 9:14 pmAnother good case for going balls deep this offseasonSexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 8:16 pmI would think Seattle would try and get as many big pieces this offseason as they could, and to build the biggest winner possible. Yup, completely agree bpj. Get a 1 or go home. I know Rodon's got that injury history, sorta like Paxton, can't complete a season but I'm willing to take that risk. Not my money. If he doesn't go 200 innings, Ms have arms behind him in Kirby, Brash, Williamson, Dunn to get the job done.bpj wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 3:07 amSo far I'm not disappointed we've missed out on any of them except Belt.
Desclafini would've made a fine Kikuchi replacement, but I'd rather they aim higher anyways.
So far starting pitching prices lower than I expected.
Hopefully that means Gausman and Rodon are in our budget.

Matz is the latest lefty to go 4 for 44 to 48 million. I am really hoping we can get at least 1 of Ray, Gausman, Rodon, Max

Not worried by this other than its one more player off the board that other teams missed out on. They'll have to shift their focus towards the remaining pool, which consists of our targeted players.
Adding Gausman to our rotation would leave a lot of arms in organization fighting for that 5th spot. Seattle has the biggest amount of payroll space available amongst the 4 teams mentioned which tells me we should be the odds on favorites to sign him.

Word on the street is Houston is all in on Marte to replace Correa’s bat

Dipshito is probably waiting to see how the Market performs before trying to acquire any top FA's. So it's likely we'll end up with the leftovers scraped from the sides and bottom of the dumpsters. I have NO faith in him acquiring anyone meaningful to bolster the team. In the long run, we'll wait until hell freezes over to sign anyone capable of pushing the team past the first playoff game.

We completely shelled Wacha this past season
2 starts 7.2 IPs 20 hits! 11 runs, 4 walks and a .488 BA.
