Sitting at 39 on the 40 man roster.

Time for some interesting moves.
have 3 guys we could DFA if need be off the current 40-man:

Kevin Padlo
Donovan Walton
Aaron Fletcher

Do they need to though? If they're keeping one spot open, it's probably for the Rule 5. I don't think any free agents need to be added to the roster right away, or do they?

And on those names, I think Walton and Padlo are potential 40-45s that they would like to keep around, and Fletcher is sort of a wildcard in that his stuff moves so much he has trouble throwing strikes, but like Yohan Ramirez, there's a lot of potential if they can settle him down a bit.

I was looking at the Rule 5 players added and those top 30 prospects for each team that weren't added.

https://www.mlb.com/news/rule-5-draft-e ... an-rosters

Interesting notes:
Boston didn't protect their no. 10 prospect but he was in A ball.
Houston didn't protect their no. 13 prospect. He only reached A+ ball, but he as a catcher, slugged .781 in 96 ABs there with an OBP of.438.
KC didn't protect their no. 12 prospect.
The Angels didn't protect their no. 10 and 12 prospect.
The Mets didn't protect their no. 10 prospect.
Stl didn't protect their no. 12 and 13 prospect. Their no. 13 prospect hit 26 hrs in 91 games at AA.
Toronto didn't protect their no. 7 and 17 prospects. The no 7 prospect was in A ball. Their no. 17 prospect was more viable with an .888 OPS at AA ball.

Just FYI, he will be available.
We should do a "Yankees-Russell Wilson" type scenario with Kyle.
