Payroll
Re: Payroll
If we had just done what the Angels did we would have our Ace and our lefty reliever. We could just go with Brash/Dunn for the 5th starter and would be done with our pitching and could just focus on bats.

Re: Payroll
We are currently at $59.4M but that includes $3.75M for Cano and $2M for Seager.

An Ace that might not be able to make it to 120 innings?...

I bet he puts up more WAR than any new pitcher JD comes up with.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 4:20 pmAn Ace that might not be able to make it to 120 innings?...

Re: Payroll
Loup would have been nice, but the thing with Syndergaard is that his floor and his ceiling are farther apart than everyone else's. We should be looking for a guy who's more of a sure bet to take the mound at least 30 times. For example, Stroman. Or even Scherzer at his age.D-train wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 4:27 pmI bet he puts up more WAR than any new pitcher JD comes up with.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 4:20 pmAn Ace that might not be able to make it to 120 innings?...
Re: Payroll
The last time I looked (mid-season), the league average payroll was a touch over $140 million. That probably dropped because of free agency. Still, I can't think of any excuses the M's can use that would make the fans feel better about the club as to why they didn't get who they wanted. Same 'ol, same ol'. One of the most fucked up organizations in all of professional sports.
Re: Payroll
Syndegaard is too big a risk for me. I'd rather land Rodon, Gausman or even Gray
Re: Payroll
JD most assuredly has offers out to players at the top of the market (as the Ms aren't making offers to the middle tier options like Descalfani, Wood, Loup, Matz, Cobb et al who have signed or are about to sign elsewhere) and all you guys do is whine and complain. HES OUT THERE DOING WHAT WE WANT HIM TO DO!ddraig wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 6:23 pmThe last time I looked (mid-season), the league average payroll was a touch over $140 million. The top of the market likes to wait. So we need to be patient.

Re: Payroll
at this point he doesn't have offers out there, he is just beginning to meet with players, but yeah, let him execute the plan they created
