Loup would have been nice, but the thing with Syndergaard is that his floor and his ceiling are farther apart than everyone else's. We should be looking for a guy who's more of a sure bet to take the mound at least 30 times. For example, Stroman. Or even Scherzer at his age.

Still, I can't think of any excuses the M's can use that would make the fans feel better about the club as to why they didn't get who they wanted. Same 'ol, same ol'. JD most assuredly has offers out to players at the top of the market (as the Ms aren't making offers to the middle tier options like Descalfani, Wood, Loup, Matz, Cobb et al who have signed or are about to sign elsewhere) and all you guys do is whine and complain. HES OUT THERE DOING WHAT WE WANT HIM TO DO!

The top of the market likes to wait. So we need to be patient.
