denim shirt, nice tie!...was thinking, the thing about that team was how home grown it was, no high priced FAs, may not see the likes of that ever again.

Paul Sorrento is the Angels hitting coach...course it wouldn't have hurt adding some high priced FAs to that team, imagine having that core to build around...

They set the HR record and Edgar and ARod weren't that close to their career highs in home runs.

yeah, i was curious about Sorrento, he was basically a replacement level player, their FA signing, took over first base when they traded Tino to save money, but he put up 31 dingers that year. It was an interesting roster, Norm Charlton was on it, Raul Ibanez, got five at bats, got hit by a pitch

He looked like he could have been Sly Stalone's buddy in the on of the Rocky movies. Two year deal for a total of $2.5M. .859 OPS and 31 bombs for us the second year and then out of baseball just two years later at age 33.
