Watching a Randy Johnson documentary on MLB network. Narrated by Metalica's lead singer and Getty Lee is interviewed because he is his close friend.

It is phenomenal.

Last line of the documentary was Getty saying he has become a folk hero in America, a larger than life guy, a sort of Paul Bunyan in a way.

And of course it was him that was the pitcher to kill a bird with a pitch.

I had forgot that he came into the top of the 8th in game 7 of the 2001 WS and got all four outs before the D Backs won it in the bottom of the 9th.

So he has two of the most famous all time walks from the pen to the mound in baseball history with the crowd going fucking insane both times.

He was 40 years old when he threw the perfect game. If anyone should have been a unanimous HOFer it should have been him not a reliever.
