BA on JRod
BA on JRod
btw Is there a single soul in all of baseball be it GM's, managers, coaches or fans that would trade #1 prospect Adley Rutchman for JRod????
AD: Turns 24 in 3 weeks; 2021 in AA .271/.392/.508/.901
JRod: Just turned 21 on New year's eve so almost 3 YEARs younger; 2021 in AA .361/.462/.546/1.007

Re: BA on JRod
Only advantage Rutschman has is he plays a prime defensive position and Julios bound for a corner position.
I wouldn't trade a better bat for a worse bat regardless of what position they play!

Re: BA on JRod
Yep, I thought of that but agree that JRod's age and superior bat are FAR more valuable. Also, Rutschman is also listed as a 1B!

Re: BA on JRod
This is why I don't trust scouts or their reports:
From Prospect live:
JRod
That projects to about 45 in a big league season. Starling Marte led all of baseball with 47 and Merrifield was second with 40.
Steal an occasional bag?

JRod
He stole 21 bases in only 74 games! The clown that wrote this didn't even bother to take 11 seconds to check his stats??????Run: Speed is a good for now, but should regress as he ages. Lacks quickness and burst out of the box or in the field. Has long strides, just a bit bulky. Doesn't lumber, Tons of hustle. Aggressive approach to steal an occasional bag. Good instincts on the base paths. Grade: 50

Re: BA on JRod
I doubt he steals 20+ bases a year in MLB regularly, but he has enough speed to run out a few infield singles, keep from getting doubled up too easily, and cover at average to bove average ground in the outfield. I think he'll work to stay l lean enough to keep his speed. He's not going to be a Nelson Cruz who is a liability in the outfield. I think he'll pride himself on his speed and do what he can to keep it above average.D-train wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 12:46 pmThis is why I don't trust scouts or their reports:

Re: BA on JRod
Yeah, SBs aren't going to be his focus, but the point is that a lot of people take what scouts say as gospel. If they are this wrong about that (guy probably just lazily though big guy, can't be a base stealer) then what else are they wrong about. Jesus Montero being regarded as a top prospect also comes to mind. Guy was literally a zero tool player but probably hyped by one Yankee scout and everyone else fell in line.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 5:59 amI doubt he steals 20+ bases a year in MLB regularly, but he has enough speed to run out a few infield singles, keep from getting doubled up too easily, and cover at average to bove average ground in the outfield. Re: BA on JRod
I'm still waiting for the BA scouting report on JRod...
Re: BA on JRod
I love the Edgar like .300 .400 .500 line. I love the fact that he is far above that at .361 .462 . 546... He did it at 20 so we could be hopeful that as a Mariner we have our #3 hitterD-train wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 7:39 pmbtw Is there a single soul in all of baseball be it GM's, managers, coaches or fans that would trade #1 prospect Adley Rutchman for JRod????

Like I said get Olson in a trade and add Bryant and the offense should be above average. The offense needs 1 dependable middle-of-the-order lefty.
Toro may or may not develop. Depending on him 100% is not something I think is smart.
Getting Olson 1B/DH=
France 1B-Dh- 3B -2B, Asa 2B his 130 135 OPS+ is Cano,
Getting Bryant is a 3B-OF-DH. That along with 1 more starter, (Castillo, Bassitt, Montas) and a lefty BP stud and contention in 2022. On Olson he has a .774 career OPS in SaFECO OVER ABOUT 40 GAMES and a .875 road OPS
1. JP L SS .340 OBP 105 OPS+
2. Frazier R .340 career 2021 .370 OBP 113 OPS+
3. France R1B-DH .370 OBP and 130 OPS+
4. Olson L 1B-DH 2021 .370 OBP 153 OPS+ Career .350 OBP and 134 OPS+
5. Bryant R 124 OPS+ .353 2021 OBP career 132 OPS+ and .376 OBP
6. Haniger R 125 OPS+ .340 OBP
7. JK L OF 115 OPS+ ????????
8. Murphy C R 97 OPS+
9. Lewis OF 120 OPS+
Bench
Cal/Torrens S-R, Toro S Utility, Dilly Utilit R 90 OPS+, OF Fraley L 105 OPS, JRod at some point other depth includes Trammell, Marmelejos,
