An Evan White mention from Twitter
Evan White may sneakily have a role to play in 2023. During his longest stretch of play this year he only struck out 16% of the time and slugged .636 in his last 18 games in AAA. Still has two option years left too, so the Mariners can afford to be patient.

It would be nice to get some value out of him.

You know he will be at ST. And he was so much better than Lewis in AA but then Lewis had so much more performance in MLB. Bottom line is if he can hit they will find a place.

I'm surprised Gravel isn't on here. He tweets a lot and almost entirely about the Mariners.

They could keep Evan from reaching 3 years of service time by keeping him down at AAA for the full year, then trying to outright him in 2024. If claimed a team would have to take on his contract.

How is this? Do you have a source?

JK hit almost .300 in AAA and has been completely overmatched in the bigs. White hit .204 in AAA. Not remotely convinced. He did have a hot August but finished with a 1-14 slump in Sept vs. AAA pitching.....

Athletically, I think it's assumed he's that kind of athlete, and he obviously has the arm. Wonder if he's played it before and how long it would take him to get the fundamentals down to at least learn 2B so he could get more PT as the backup C.
The poster formerly known as Kingfelixk. With a new forum comes a new boardname. Julio is my guy, plus we share a birthday, so that's Culiooooo
