Given any sort of roster crunch, I probably wouldn't protect Rizzo. I think he's a fringe major leaguer at best, though the left-handed bat and versatility will probably help him get some major league time.Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 6:34 pmPretty sure Joe Rizzo is another name of those that need to be protected on the 40. I know we have a ton of pitchers who need protection including Campbell, Dollard. Marlowe is a lock to be protected so we're definitely going to see some 40-man pruning this offseason.
Sheffield, Then, Valdez and trading Marco, Flexen are options in the pitching side. Frazier is an FA who will leave and Ellis is an INF we can drop.

Sure but if he wasn't R5 eligible I would feel the same.

I thought he was a little fella. shocked. Willie F Bloomquist wasn't small either. Bob Perez Jr. is listed at 170lbs. 57 lbs lighter than AlRod same height. Make it make sense. lolJuliooooo wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 8:24 pmHe's cooled off the last few weeks, but over a stretch of 3 months he hit .297/.369/.433/.802. Only 5 HR over that stretch though, so the OPS isn't great. No idea why a guy that's 227 isn't hitting more HR.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 8:16 pmHe hit 10 HRs last year which is crazy because he is built like me.
difference is this year he has a middling BA of .261 vs. 295 and meh OBP of .336 vs. .383....If we really need a spot which I don't think we will be desperate for one, they should drop him...5-11, 227lb (180cm, 102kg)

Those are likely both old numbers. Arod apparently got into shape 2 years ago, and Perez has likely bulked up. I'd bet Arod is significantly less than 227, and Perez is probably 215 or more.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 11:16 pmI thought he was a little fella. shocked. I saw a video of Perez recently hitting a home run. He seemed to be more like 200 lbs.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 11:16 pmI thought he was a little fella. shocked. Yeah I saw that too. 170lbs probably was the day after they signed him. lolice99 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 11:22 pmI saw a video of Perez recently hitting a home run. He seemed to be more like 200 lbs.

Rizzo hits better at home than on the road but he is a lefty.

Help me out with this one. Harry Ford hits a 2 run HR for Great Britain?
https://www.mlb.com/video/harry-ford-s-two-run-home-run
I didn't even know we had a team.
Arise Sir Harold of Ford
edit: the full game is live on the WBC website, says his parents are both British and his dad still lives in London. And GB beating France 5-3 after 5.
Go GB.
