How did Winker and Suarez become part of that trade? That was a separate deal.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 6:33 pmDiaz is missed, but Mariners have been fine in the bullpen. The trade isn't over. Meets are definitely winning, but Winker, Suarez and Kelenic haven't written their full story yet with the M's. Cano has with the Mets. The Gonzales/O'Niell trade, the Haniger/Marte/Segura trade, and the Crawford/Segura trades should tell everyone we are still years away from knowing how this trade works out

Justin Dunn. Although he wasn't the headliner in that trade, so it starts getting into the weeds a bitSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 6:52 pmHow did Winker and Suarez become part of that trade? Re: Predict the next 26 games.
It is actually crazy that neither side of the trade has put up any WAR. Dunn debuted in Sept 2019 and was expected to be a solid MOR starter. He could easily put up about 5 WAR by now. If JK hits as expected he could be at 3-4 WAR right now. Bautista was a throw in but considered to be a live BP arm that could have put up 2-3 WAR by now.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 11:15 amActually there is no reason why the Mets wouldn't be leading in WAR at this point. That was the reason for the trade, immediate production for the Mets, future production for the Ms. And the $48 mil is what they still owe Cano, they will be into him for $63 mil in total

It's kinda reminiscent of the Pineda Montero trade for it's twists and turns, though the $63 mil sticks out. Hard for me to accept the Ms losing the trade after getting that off their books
Forgot how after being shutdown for shoulder surgery Pineda got a DUI, that was the low point for Yankee fans, that was such a slam dunk win of a trade lol

It was an awful trade for the Mariners that only looked like a wash because Pineda got hurt. Jack Z got worked.

It didn't look like a wash when Pineda got hurt, it looked like a huge win. Like when JK was being compared to trout and cano was being busted for peds

Right, but Williamson was part of that deal. Also you can't judge one trade by how the pieces you got were used in subsequent trades.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 7:02 pmJustin Dunn. Anyone know what players besides Ray won't be travelling to Toronto?
Re: Predict the next 26 games.
They are still part of the original trade, so there is some value that you got out of them in the subsequent trade. Judging a trade is not a perfect science anyways, and this trade is far from over.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 1:47 pmRight, but Williamson was part of that deal. I'm of the opinion that Mariners needed a rebuild, and to get rid of Canos Contact and get a player the caliber of Kelenic (at that time) was worth the risk. I'm not going to get worked up about the trade regardless of if Kelenic ever figures it out or not.

Only thing that works me up about it is the second piece switching from McNeil to Dunn. Churchill was happy about it saying Dunn had a higher ceiling.
WAR
Dunn 1.6
McNeil 9.1
WAR
Dunn 1.6
McNeil 9.1
