From a sprain? If he can't come back from that then he's worse than Paxton and Bedard combined.
I was kidding, but the guy not only gets hurt all the time, but seems to remain hurt for a long time as well.

It's a typical season isn't it
Which is why I said the other day hopefully he comes back and does well just before the trade line and we send him away, no extension for somebody that doesn’t play

I want every Mariner player to be great. I'd love if Suarez, Winker, Moore, Kelenic, etc. were all such great players that people would be wearing their Mariners jerseys 50 years from now.

That said, there are guys like Haniger, Zunino, Lewis, Raleigh that I really hope(d) would become franchise legends, or at-least longterm contributors. It's a damn shame when it doesn't work out, especially frustrating when injuries are involved.

Short version: Haniger's injuries are a huge letdown.

I can't guess his next one, so I'll guess his last one: ten years from now as he's sitting in his wheelchair like Stephen Hawking, his wife's gonna double check the will and then go OOPS at the top of the stairs.

Doubly shitty for Mrs Haniger as this is his contract year - if he would have been able to put up numbers like he did last year she would have enjoyed his yearly salary of 20+mill /year but if he doesn't come back till say mid-June or so and puts up meh numbers he may have to take a prove it year contract next year if he hopes to ever get a deal like that.
