GT 5/16 the replacements vs the castoff
Re: GT 5/16 the replacements vs the castoff
Can't believe our leadoff hitter hitting .160 hasn't got on base yet.

Whoever this guy is who is pitching wish we had that type of pitching just dominating. Offense used it all up yesterday. COME ON

I have this crazy theory and would like your "respectful" thoughts on it....
Since I can remember we've already known that keep the ball down is important for everything pitching related. I can remember my father yelling at the tube "keep the ball down" in almost every game.
They say that this April was one of the lowest months ever recorded for home runs in the majors.
There are many factors involved i.e. they use humidors in stadiums now, shortened spring training, they even say the ball has been "deadened".
With that said...I believe during the last few seasons that umpires have expanded the striking zone vertically. What I mean is the current trend of "high strikes" has become popular and accepted.
You'd think the most likely place to hit a home run would be right down the middle (what I call meatballs) but in reality it's at the extreme upper limit of the zone.
Now, go just a couple inches above that and the home run rate drops sharply.
So what am I talking about???
I believe that pitchers throw higher in the zone than ever before looking for the sweet spot above the "home run hitting zone" and know that they have a better chance of getting the call.
Home run hitters like the ball either a little inside or a little away and the really good ones hit em out regardless of speed or whether its a curve or a slider.
So I believe that ALL high pitches produce a greater risk of getting knocked out of the park.
The old timers had it right...to prevent the mistake ball, location and control are key.
"Keep the God Damn ball down".

Kuchi
He is on his best behavior vs his old club.
But he's gonna have a shit the bed inning.
Just wait.
Souza still sucks.

Who could have foreseen that...
- Kelenic would continue to struggle with the bat
- Haniger would get injured
- Lewis would still be out
I mean, who could have imagined?
Oh, everyone except Jerry.

Omg where is yesterday's offense? Souza can't even hit a fastball right down the damn plate. Wasting another good pitching performance. COME THE FUCK ON

They have France in the lineup and still can't get anything going vs. Kuchikoo???
