Re: GT 6/4 Mariners' Marco to Throttle Rangers' Otto
Looking at the schedule from today up until July 17th.....it is a very favorable/doable/winnable schedule for the Mariners.
IF they were just to win the series vs. the teams they play up until the all-star break....we would go 26-14 for the next 40 games.
We would have a record at that point of 48-43. 5 games above .500 and in the hunt for a playoff spot...plus justification for more moves before the trade deadline. I think France and Gilbert represent us in the Allstar game.
One can hope and dream. But it's not totally unrealistic imho based on their starting pitching and the vets batting to their baseball card averages.
And the kids keep improving.
2nd half we get Hanniger or a version of him. We get Upton or what's left of him. We get Giles with a bionic arm.

I don't think they are keeping score on a rehab assignment, the thing is he is pitching again. That would mean he should be ready soon?

Isn't Winker the slowest position player on the team? Who leads off with their worst base-runner besides the Ms? I mean, you generally want someone that is at least avg speed there don't you, or am i stuck in the 20th century?
