INjury update

Post by Pharmabro » Sat Jun 11, 2022 11:11 pm

Tom Murphy: He was supposed to come back for the last Boston series but had a setback and there has been no news coming out.
Outlook ???? but it does not seem good

Lewis
June 8, 2022
Lewis (concussion) has begun working on his conditioning by ramping up his heart rate on a stationary bike, but he remains without a firm return date, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The uptick in activity is encouraging considering he's been experiencing prolonged concussion symptoms. However, Lewis has yet to resume any baseball activities, a step he'll naturally have to complete before activation is considered. Lewis is scheduled to be reassessed when the Mariners return home for a weekend series against the Red Sox.
Outlook ???? but it does not seem good

Ken Giles?
June 5, 2022
Giles (finger) has allowed three earned runs on seven hits and three walks over 2.1 innings across three rehab outings with Triple-A Tacoma and High-A Everett.
ANALYSIS
The veteran reliever opened his rehab assignment in Tacoma with a solid outing, allowing an unearned run over an inning while recording two strikeouts against Triple-A Las Vegas last Sunday. Giles then transferred over to High-A Everett in order to limit his travel and has struggled against lesser competition, but the inconsistency isn't entirely surprising considering he last saw regular-season action in 2020. The 31-year-old is expected to be given plenty of time to work the kinks out, however, with the Associated Press reporting manager Scott Servais confirmed Giles still has "a few more outings ahead of him" before activation is considered.
Outlook Expected back June 18th and this is the best of the bunch?

Mitch Haniger?
June 8, 2022
Haniger (ankle) has resumed hitting in the batting cage, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Haniger resumed light baseball activities recently, and it's encouraging to see him hitting in the cage. However, the 31-year-old hasn't yet been cleared to resume running. Haniger will need to ramp up his workload before he's in the mix to rejoin the Mariners.
Outlook? ETA 7-10-2022!

J-Up Justin is playing in Tacoma and has been released since April. Roto says once he gets timing and or shape he could be "up". 6 games Tacoma .160 .250 .440 .690

There is reason to each of these guys could make the team better but will it be too little, or too late, or maybe a bit of both?
