Here is what Jerry's cutting edge plan for DH has delivered

Post by D-train » Fri Jun 24, 2022 6:48 pm

Dead f-ing last in wRC+ at 66. And the two guys that he wanted to cycle through DH as a pseudo infirmary convalescent center, Mitch and Lewis have combined to DH SEVEN games this season. And the whole point of it was to keep guys rested and healthy.

Meanwhile Bell has a 135 wRC, more than double what the clown's plan delivered.

What can you say, the man's a pioneer. First the 6-man rotation and now this brilliant use of the DH. What next, going with three catchers to start the season? Oh wait...

What makes it even worse is when they did rotate a quality bat over to DH (like Haniger or Suarez), it just meant they were putting some .500 OPS bat into their spot in the field (Kelenic or Toro) which completely negates the benefit ot adding a bonus bat.

Not having a real DH is the biggest bone headed move a team can make.

It's like not claiming the middle "Star" square in Bingo.

A free benefit there for you to use (get the best bat possible in the lineup regardless of whether they can play defense) and you deny it and go looking for "versatility".

Such stupidity.

Not to mention...it's not like every bat that was abailable could do NOTHING but DH. I am sure there were bats out there to DH better than Kelenic or Toro that also could have played in the field a day or two a week.

Kyle Schwarber and his .842 OPS and 64 games in LF says hi.
