He's also a DH against righties when France is back.
He is a switch hitter and plays a decent first base too. DH should fit him as well as first base to get France a break when needed.
Forgot he switch hit even better. Probably need a rhh more for now. But if Lewis and Haniger are back, he's probably going to be used more against righties.
Yep, Kyle took BP yesterday so maybe he starts a rehab assignment by the end of the week so might be back in about a month. Better than I expected.

Santana is a bridge to get France back. Nothing more.

If it means we never have to see Toro or Torrens at DH it’s a great trade. Of course I’m expecting DiPoto to send Santana packing as soon as France returns so he can keep playing his guys…

Doesn't trading for him make him one of his guys?

I think DiPoto sees a difference between trading for proven major league talent (even the over the hill variety) and the young guys he thinks he “discovered” because he’s smarter than everybody else. Or maybe, since Santana doesn’t have pics of Jerry from the No-Tell-Motel, he’s more likely to get jettisoned that Jerry’s boy Toro.😀

It is this type of cutting edge insight and analysis that Winker has more hits in the month that he got hot that has led to Churchill rise to the pinnacle of baseball thought leaders.

This is classic Churchill right here. OKeefe has a 1.000 OPS and slow bat. Mike Curto who watches him ever day told me he is solid behind the plate and pitchers love his pitch calling.
