I hope this doesn't mean bad news for France.

I suppose Santana can DH when France is back. Yes, he hits for high avg and doesn't K much... but he's basically Jose Vidro. Not much power left in that stroke.

Cheap insurance I guess.

I guess the M's can use a DH/1B.

Before anyone bitches about his .690 OPS... he's had a torrid June slashing .357/.478/.554/1.032 with 5 doubles, 2 homers, 11 RBI, 13 walks and just 7 K's.

I like it. Don't love it.
IF he can stay healthy.....let's get as much baseball out of him as he's got left.
He's an UFA after the season.
Maybe just a little more power than Padlo or Dilly. :D

Wish it was Bell but his June is encouraging.

Carlos Santana is 6th in the AL for walks (Winker is 1st).

I'd love for Santana to replicate his Oye Como Va days, but I'd certainly settle for Smooth.

And this move certainly suggests to me that there will be no return of France and no return of Lewis any time soon.

Fleming has potential, but we have pitching prospects. Not a big loss
