That too. Such a shit show after that trade, I doubt he sell unless we totally tank the next few weeks.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 7:48 pmForget the fans, how would the team react to doing that 2 years in a row?Captain 97 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 7:42 pm1. I don't think they will sell for two reasons unless we lose like 15+ games between now and the deadline.
1. The fan base will go ballistic
2. They don't have anything of value to sell that they would be willing to part with. All of the guys that are FAs at the end of the season are hurt or terrible.
2. Hanniger should have almost 3 weeks of games in him before the deadline. I'd also consider selling some guys that are under control Suarez, Lewis, Marco, Flexen etc.
Name two players you want the M's to acquire at the deadline.

I will read what you all said after I put in my .02$.
1st a top of the line starter:
Reds targets Castillo 38.5M value, Mahle 26.4 M
LHBP stud
Andrew Chaffin (MLB trade value 4.3M
I know Burocki is up to a 123 ERA+ but a number of us were clamoring for getting Chaffin in a trade with the A's before they released him and after as a FA
OR
You just go add a reliable closer
David Robertson 222 ERA+ Cubs FA next year (1.7 M trade value)

The M's need a no. 2 or 3 starter. The most Kirby has pitched in a professional season is 67 2/3 innings. He *could* be shut down before the end of the season.
My preference would be Pablo Lopez.
A reliever like Chafin.
Just trade Frazier for whatever you can get. Maybe trade Kyle Lewis as part of the Pablo Lopez (or other SP) package.

The M's are going to need a replacement for Kirby. He'll be pitching way above his limit if he's still pitching in August. They need another starter.

I think I saw Scott saying they might just keep re-slotting their rotation on off-days and keep everyone else on schedule. I wonder how long they could keep that up
Re: Name two players you want the M's to acquire at the deadline.
Pablo Lopez has 2.5 years of control and the Marlins are just as much in the race as us and they have every bit of a chance to add to their roster. His trade value is at 46.8 M on the trade calculator. I mean if we could get him I would be great with it. JK =28M, Arroyo =14.9M, Stoudt =4.6, RHP Miller 5.1 gives you 52.6M going back. Just the other day I looked on that thing and JK went from 40M to 28 and Julio went from 93 to 11.9M I could also switch JK and Arroyo out for Marte. Even with Marte doing this the last 10 games as a 20 year old .343 .442 .629 with as many walks as K's (7)!ice99 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 9:02 pmThe M's need a no. 2 or 3 starter. Maybe we could send players and prospects together for a Jazz Chisholm & Pablo Lopez package?
Would it be possible?

Together they have a trade value of around 100. Kelenic is at 28, Noelvi Marte is at 42... so unlikely.seattlefan-daBronx wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 3:01 amMaybe we could send players and prospects together for a Jazz Chisholm & Pablo Lopez package?

Yes, I didn't mean right away. It would be closer to the deadline, and the Marlins could be more out of it. I don't agree with the BTV site's valuation. Part of what you have is a starting point, but I wouldn't give up Arroyo, though. JD gave them Pablo Lopez and 3 other prospects for Phelps, lol. That was almost as bad as the Heathcliff Slokum trade.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 12:31 amPablo Lopez has 2.5 years of control and the Marlins are just as much in the race as us and they have every bit of a chance to add to their roster.
