Geez, minus the solo shot, Flexen had an easy inning finally
Easy inning maybe, but even his outs are being hit on the screws. He's not fooling anyone.

Leadoff should never be Julio's spot on a well-built roster.

The Angels did hit 7 homeuns in one game vs Oakland and LOST, 8-7. So they've got some thump.

True. But I'd rather he pitch to contact than torture me with 3-2 counts to every batter, trying to paint corners like he's Jaimie Moyer.

I could get behind that
That's Julios spot. Julio France Haniger. Top 3. Haggerty is great batting 9th speed on for Julio.
I think Julio will be too good to be a leadoff guy. He'll be, every day, batting 3rd like Griffey eventually.
I'd be fine with Haggerty, France, Julio, Haniger as the top 4 unless Haggerty falls off a cliff.

I don't think you can be too good to bat leadoff, not if you have the tools to do it

He'll be too valuable as an RBI guy. Behind France and someone else with good OBP is where Julio will end up.

Not that I wouldn't love Julio leading off all the time, if it means seeing more Julio atbats.

It's not that he's too good its that you aren't maximizing his value. That's the argument. Well you get more p production from him batting 3rd than batting first. Probably depends on who you have batting first. Hopefully they have a good leadoff so they can use Julio 3rd.
The poster formerly known as Kingfelixk. With a new forum comes a new boardname. Julio is my guy, plus we share a birthday, so that's Culiooooo

As much as we struggle offensively, I think we're even worse against left handers.
