Maybe they need to give all the position players 3-4 months of rest then they'll be able to hit like Mitch.seattlefan-daBronx wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:09 amWell. We're not going to WIN too many games with only two hits either.
Other than Haniger, no one has really stepped up tonight.

Well at least we got Castillo and Ray going next few games hopefully its like last series. Lose first win last 2.

Yankees are a horrible matchup for GIlbert, Astros are a horrible matchup for Ray. Hopefully Ray can get it done against the Yankees.

Problem there is they will all need rehab games before they return. Season will be over by then.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:21 amMaybe they need to give all the position players 3-4 months of rest then they'll be able to hit like Mitch.seattlefan-daBronx wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:09 amWell. Great question. I really don't want Marco starting a playoff game in a short series. But if Logan doesn't get things turned around, it doesn't leave you a lot of desirable options. Would you start Marco over Flexen based on what you know today?seattlefan-daBronx wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:13 amMakes you question who you start in a short series now in the playoffs doesn't it???TraderGary wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:09 amI agree, but I also think an even bigger problem is that he can't get his secondary pitches over the plate consistently, so everyone just sits on his fastball which makes it too easy to hit.seattlefan-daBronx wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:05 am
Exactomundo. He sucks at adjustments. Thinks he can blow bye everyone with that high fastball.
Most teams yes. But not the fucking Yankees or Houston. He tried to throw a curve but where was the slider today???
He has no go to strikeout pitch other than the fastball. That's a problem.
Maybe with the knowledge that Logan has difficulty vs. winning lineups....
Do you start Ray, Castillo, Marco? Guys with experience and control. Keep the bench warm with Kirby then Logan as substitutes?
Or how about starting Logan for the first 4 innings and come in with Marco for the next 4 as a change of pace? Completely different stuff, LH vs RH? Unless Logan is throwing well then you stay with him? Or a Logan/Kirby combo if they haven't shut him down for the year?
Lot of questions. With almost 2 months left, I have a feeling these things will be answered on their own.

Good Swanny.
Last three shots at the Spanks.
We can't let everyone not named Judge beat us.

Yea I am scared of how Scott is gonna use this pitching if we make the playoffs. Without this offense clicking it might not be good. Orioles are hott right now.TraderGary wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:27 amGreat question. I really don't want Marco starting a playoff game in a short series.
