So Santana is out of the doghouse? It's interesting to me, sometimes slash lines don't seem tell the whole story. Take the dodgers, they trade us Lamb so they can add Joey Gallo with his .214/ .214 /.286/ .500 slash line, what's up with that, it's not like the dodgers don't know what they are doing. He did hit a big homerun the other night.

To answer my question, I understand they wanted more defense than Lamb offers

Anybody else not a fan of the moving Flexen out of the rotation instead of Marco?
Its a toss-up. Marco leads the team in Quality Starts. If he sucks, then just flip flop them. But overall not that big of deal.
Marco has been solid for a long time. Flex is a competitor as well. He always seems to give a "good enough" performance he was 1 pitch away from going his his usual 5.2 and 2 runs but then gives up another 2-run bomb. It is kinda funny
Flexen 96 ERA+
Ray 95 ERA+
Marco 94 ERA+

And yet, I am 100% behind Ray at this point.

Flexen and Marco are mirrors of each other.
Flexen sucked from 2017-2019 as a top 100 w metz, 2020 he crosses the Pacific to pitch and learn from an Asian league's perspective and it clicks: 2021 115 ERA+ 31 starts 3.5 WAR and he has been a decent back-end type this year his age 27 season.

Marco: He was a top 100 prospect 1st Rounder, and sucked his 1st several tries in MLB and was injured for 1 year vs spending a year in Asia but the we get him and his 1st full season he is a 102 ERA+, then 109, 138, and 105 and 8.9 WAR He ha been a 3 WAR per 162 over that span.

Coin flip.

We played the Last two series against Houston without Julio, Haniger and Castillo. Prior to that we were 6-6 against them.
If Robbie can get his mojo going against the Asstros, I'm inclined to agree. I hope we get the chance to find out!
He needs to get his ass Vaccinated so he can pitch in Toronto if needed
Or they could lift the moronic nonsensical mandates.

Mariners win! We're HEROES!!!

That Santana, I don't think I've ever seen such a combination of someone who sucks but gets big hits.
Last guy I can remember is that Toro guy. :)

We don't get to decide that though, it's probably not happening before the end of the season
The poster formerly known as Kingfelixk. With a new forum comes a new boardname. Julio is my guy, plus we share a birthday, so that's Culiooooo

I know but it just annoys me that people blame the players like there is no other possible solution.

It's hard to see Marco as a reliever, with an 88 mph fastball and pitching to contact. He relies on the borderline calls, evening out. On a short stint he'd be shelled if the ump missed a few calls. That said, if Marco doesn't perform well, they can drop him to the bullpen.

Yep. I don't think it was because they thought Marco was the better starter.
