Torrens out, Casali in
Re: Torrens out, Casali in
People keep talking about JK figuring it out. I just don't think he has the physical ability to hit major league breaking balls and never will. It would be like me figuring out how to dunk a basketball or run a 4.3 40 yard dash. It is literally impossible. AAA breaking balls are his max capability.

I am more excited about Taylor Trammell than JK at this point.

So it wasn't a question of rushing himD-train wrote: ↑Sat Aug 13, 2022 11:41 amPeople keep talking about JK figuring it out. Kelenic is Carlos Peguero. A Three True Outcome player, without the walks.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 8:44 amSo it wasn't a question of rushing himD-train wrote: ↑Sat Aug 13, 2022 11:41 amPeople keep talking about JK figuring it out. There are still people waiting for Mallex Smith and Braden Bishop to blossom. Aaaaany day now. Just give them time!
Kelenic was rushed but there's no reason he can't come back and have a Jake Fraley or Ben Gamel level career.
Re: Torrens out, Casali in
That didn't help but no I think ability trumps development. If we rushed Julio for example he would have been fine and we brought ARod up at 18yo and he had a decent career.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 8:44 amSo it wasn't a question of rushing himD-train wrote: ↑Sat Aug 13, 2022 11:41 amPeople keep talking about JK figuring it out. Yeah, I think their analytics indicated he had solved the minors. And how well he manages it now demonstrates that. I think rushing gets blown out of proportion. It's obvious he can hit minor league pitching, if they leave him there for another month or two it wouldn't have made a difference in his ability to hit ML pitching when he finally came up

Yep, I think I have heard that phrase, "eventually he will figure it out" a thousand times like it is impossible that he won't. Imo it is possible that he won't.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 12:02 pmYeah, I think their analytics indicated he had solved the minors. And how well he manages it now demonstrates that. He cleared waivers.

Hard realization that we would be a better team with Flexen in the rotation and Giles in the bullpen with Marco accepting a gig selling hair products on QVC.
Of course they'd be on the hook for his salary the next few years if they DFA'd Marco, which is why he should've already been packaged in a trade somewhere when they brought in Castillo.
