If he’s healthy enough to pitch, why not just send down someone with options? Can almost guarantee someone will get hurt and a spot will open up

Maybe they’ve determined that he just sucks lol

Yeah another one of Jerry's "I'm the cleverest smartest GM in baseball moves" Just find good healthy plays instead of this nonsense.

Jerry just needs to stick to the minimum wage relievers. From Zipchinski to Romo to Giles, every reliever he's paid has been a waste while half of the minimum wage spaghetti he throws at the wall sticks.

Its an odd move. He just pitched back to back days on Tuesday and Wednesday for Tacoma and didn't give up a run. Why invest nearly 2 years rehabbing the guy just to cut him loose when he is close to coming back?

Especially when you have only 39 players on the 40 man to begin with.
The poster formerly known as Kingfelixk. With a new forum comes a new boardname. Julio is my guy, plus we share a birthday, so that's Culiooooo

Doesn't really make sense unless he got injured again

It was weird to sign a guy knowing he wouldn’t pitch for a year. Was the market rate for one year of his services really 7m?

Maybe Jerry has a bad poker face and gets played into bidding against himself

Jerry didn't think he was better than anyone currently in the pen. I actually do like the fact that money wasn't a factor. Gives me some hope.
