A little sappy but I love Jr. so I enjoyed it.
Field Of Dreams Game intro
Re: Field Of Dreams Game intro
I was wondering why he wasn't wearing M's gear like Dad. Being told it was because the Reds were playing in the game but what would have hurt. Just seemed odd and ruined it bit for me.

A little sappy? Try a lot. Maybe i'm jaded but it all seems like some hokey drivel trying to exploit the commercial success of some goofy movie that really has little to do with the actual history and lore of the game.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 8:48 pmhttps://twitter.com/MLB/status/15578677 ... obGL0iimzg

Your mostly right about the sentimentality of it all.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 11:58 pmA little sappy? Try a lot. But the movie ends with Costner's character throwing ball with his dad and I always felt that was its moral not the game itself. In fact "Build it and he will come" is meant to refer specifically to the dad not Shoeless Joe Jackson.
Finding a famous dad and lad to throw some ball is perfect to represent the essence of the game.
