We shall get to see the French version of Elias very soon.
The Mariners announced Thursday that they’ve selected the contract of lefty Taylor Guilbeau from Triple-A Tacoma and placed right-hander Brandon Brennan on the 10-day injured list due to right shoulder inflammation.

Guilbeau, 26, currently ranks 22nd among Mariners prospects at both MLB.com and Baseball America. Seattle acquired the hard-throwing southpaw in the trade that sent Roenis Elias to the Nationals, and he’ll step into the Seattle bullpen after just five innings with the team’s Tacoma affiliate.

I hope he's in the AFL this year. I could see him push for a spot on the team by early 2021 season. After seeing young studs like Acuna, Tatis, Soto make an impact at 20 in MLB, why not Juliooooo?

So, can we expext Mr. Gilbeau Baggins to help the M's in their final push for the #3 draft pick?

I think it will be fun to watch Gilbeau's production compared to Elias' production.

I don't get what the Nationals felt they got in acquiring Elias instead of just bringing up Gilbeau themselves.

Elias has ML experience, he has solid peripherals, he can go multiple innings out of the BP, he can close, he can spot start, he has two more years of control. He is a known quantity for a team trying to make the playoffs

Lets see how that translates compared to Gilbeau.

I get why they think they did it.

It's just stupid.

He'll step into a buzz saw. (Though I hope not. The Theory of Probability would say one of these guys has to be effective)

bpj... has anyone asked? Is that Randy Johnson's fastball disintegrating a seagull? (I don't read every thread) If you look close you can see the seagull's face and read the words on his beak, "WTF?"
