You are 10 miles north of Boston and I am 10 miles south of Boston.Millikin wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 1:15 amI've got a packed itinerary of stuff to do, but maybe I'll look into something for spring training.
I'm probably super-close though. My hotel is in Woburn.

Only been 7 games so hard to say. He is at .250/.823 in those games.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 2:52 amGreat game for Julio.
Does anyone else wonder if that HR derby caused him to change his approach and become too aggressive at the plate?

This is an old article, still seems relevant. It calls BS on home run derby ruining swings excuse, and that's what it is. He goes through the numbers, some participants had worse second halfs, others had better. That participation is based on a strong first have it's only natural that numbers might not be maintained
https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/ ... g.amp.html. Bobby Abreu was having a tremendous year, and he made the All-Star team. He participated in the Home Run Derby, hit 41 out of the park, and proceeded to have an awful second half of the season. So what did he do? He blamed the Home Run Derby for ruining his swing.
You see, some players alter their swings for the derby to get more of an uppercut and knock the ball that much farther. Abreu essentially said he couldn’t un-alter his swing. And because of his comments, many players today are afraid to participate in the derby, and some coaching staffs are reluctant to let their
players swing. They don’t want to end up like Abreu, having to make up an excuse for their second half slump.
This is superstition at its finest. One person makes a ridiculous claim, and others are afraid to test the legitimacy of said claim.

Yeah it is pretty silly think that a big league hitter who has been hitting his whole life is going to change his approach after trying to hit HRs for 10 minutes in a contest. It would be like if any of us got a chance to drive a race car for a few laps. Are we then going to drive 180mph on the freeway on the way home?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 12:24 pmThis is an old article, still seems relevant. As well as a pretty easy thing to analyze, check participants first halves to their second halves
Re: Marco to the rescue G.T. 8/13/22
Crazy play here. This is why you have your OFers play very shallow with less than two outs with the winning run on third in the bottom of the last inning.
