Dipoto works in funny ways though, because he did then turn the other piece of that trade, Justin Dunn, into Suarez (and Winker...).

Funny enough, the Mariners gave up another piece in the Suarez trade, Jake Fraley, who they got in the botched Mallex Smith acquisition, so Dipoto has taken what were stains on his record and turned them into a shiny 5 WAR third baseman who we have very cheap for the next few years.

Have to give the guy credit when it's due.
