Re: Rookie of the Year
The thing is WAR already has a positional adjustment. You can't claim they had similar seasons because his WAR was almost as good as Julio's and then use the fact that he plays Catcher as as intangible to push him over the top. That is double dipping.
Re: Rookie of the Year
He used war to show they were close, then used the "Adley plays catcher so let's ignore the rest of the stats" argument. "He turned them around". IOW "Let's not punish him because he didn't start with the team, but let's punish Julio because he did"
I get the other side of the argument, I just don't agree with it

Yeah he said WAR didn't adequately incorporate the value of being a catcher. Ok bud.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 9:39 pmThe thing is WAR already has a positional adjustment. Does WAR adequately incorporate not only the SB, but the speed on the bases that Julio brings? I don't really know, but I doubt it.D-train wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 10:02 pmYeah he said WAR didn't adequately incorporate the value of being a catcher. Yes, for FG it is BsR. Interesting Julio is much higher than Nimmo. Adley is actually higher. 5.0Juliooooo wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 10:33 pmDoes WAR adequately incorporate not only the SB, but the speed on the bases that Julio brings?
