The Tracker
Re: The Tracker
Seems like more teams may have realized tanking isn't helping them in the draft much now so they might as well fight for the Wild Card spots.
That does bode well for Marco/Flexen.
I'd much prefer they keep Flexen over Marco if it comes down to it.

Re: The Tracker
I think the early market has indicated both Marco and Flexen are assets. Compare their recent performance to
Matt Boyd 1X10M with incentives to add more 91 ERA+ and had 13 innings out of the pen last year brevious 4 years 109, 68, 102, 104 ERA+
ANderson (163 ERA+ last year) But before that he was a league average 100 ERA+ guy 13MX3
Even
Mike C who has performed as a TOR in 2020 and prior has been out since and put in 100+ innings of 86 ERA+ in 2022 8M 1 year (129 ERA+ career)
Compared to
Flexen 1X8M 115 and 99 ERA+ last 2
Marco 183 innings of 90 ERA+ is the definition of a #5 innings eater but the previous 4 years were 104, 138, 109, and 102 ERA+ (owed 19M over the next 2 years) Career 100 ERA+
I don't expect much and maybe Seattle even sweetens the deal by paying a few million. But from the contracts going out to similar pitchers it would be hard to agree with these guys being underwater compared to market.
Re: The Tracker
I guess the fairy tale love story of Boyd playing for his home town team wasn't enough to overcome the lure of millions of dollars. It all comes down to money and all the other nonsense that a lot of people focus on is a distant second and only comes into play if money is basically equal.

Miguel Castro (RHP) the the D-Backs on a 1 year, $3.5M deal.

He has spent most of his career in Detroit and they plan to use him as a starter aren't they.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 1:17 pmI guess the fairy tale love story of Boyd playing for his home town team wasn't enough to overcome the lure of millions of dollars. Re: The Tracker
Added DeGrom which is one of the I really wish we were in on him.
DeGrom 37M per 155 ERA+
Abreu 20M per 134 OPS+

Re: The Tracker
Wow, scratch that. Had no idea DeGrom as so old but I wouldn't be surprised to see a sharp decline especially having to pitch against JP and Wong. lolD-train wrote: ↑Sat Dec 03, 2022 3:36 pmI could seeing DeGrom turning into Lincecum...Went from great to shit at about 30 yo.

Re: The Tracker
Is this the thread for random vomitous outpourings about players the Mariners are never going to sign?
Re: The Tracker
Or his UCL just snaps. Huge risk by the Rangers considering his health history.D-train wrote: ↑Sat Dec 03, 2022 3:37 pmWow, scratch that.
