just tell me what it takes for the dbacks to have negotiated a successful trade, don't tell me he has to be

Re: Trade number 2
I would say if he puts up average DH WAR for them it would be a win. Between 1-2 WAR like Vogey did. Especially if they are set at catcher which I assume they are.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 3:10 pmjust tell me what it takes for the dbacks to have negotiated a successful trade, don't tell me he has to be

He wasn't in line to be their catcher but they are in need of another backup catcher I believe.

From the dbacks perspective one can possibly assume their is a good chance Lewis can bring good value. They don’t have to take into consideration his moody bitch ass attitude that the mariners dealt with….we had had enough of the drama new chapter new leaf good luck.D-train wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 3:17 pmI would say if he puts up average DH WAR for them it would be a win. I still can not believe he was pissed they sent him down. He was 4-41 with a .366 OPS after he finally returned after being out for almost two months with a concussion.Coeurd’Alene J wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 3:29 pmFrom the dbacks perspective one can possibly assume their is a good chance Lewis can bring good value. Re: Trade number 2
They have Varsho to backup Kelly and Varsho also plays OF like Humill but better. Humill is depth with a slight chance to become a decent mlb bat as a long shot Jerry is just amassing trade pieces for down the road….I’m fairly certain Jerry doesn’t give 2 shits about whether this trade gives us better war than The dbacks will get.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 3:28 pmHe wasn't in line to be their catcher but they are in need of another backup catcher I believe.

Im not saying he does either, it still begs the question of how to grade the trade
Re: Trade number 2
If we meet them in the WS it will be a win win.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 3:58 pmIm not saying he does either, it still begs the question of how to grade the trade

Think it's going to be interesting, not so much the trade as that he is going to be getting at bats. See what he does with them
Re: Trade number 2
I don't understand all the back and forth on the Lewis trade. From the Diamondbacks perspective, they get an interesting player that has shown some major league ability in the past, but for now is sort of a lottery ticket. In return they gave up a Triple A player who has value mainly because he has options that allow him to be the 3rd catcher, the guy you call up when one of your two ML'ers goes down with an injury. Hopefully he's better in that role than Andrew Knapp, who was terrible and they didn't want to actually let play.
