No I appreciate. Just like telling a guy his fly is down. Save him further embarrassment. lolBig_Maple wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 12:36 amTo err is human. Never made that mistake again. lolBig_Maple wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 11:30 pm
I agree with the statement and sentiment, but I think the aphorism is to err on the side of caution. Unless your double use of error is clever wordplay...
Either way, Jerry is uncharacteristically sitting on his hands right now. I guess he's waiting for big chips to fall before making whatever offers he feels obliged to make to free agents. Or not. Who knows with Jerry.
If we're stuck with Toro at 2B because Jerry was playing a devious cat and mouse game, I think our season would be over before it began.
No worries. I’m certainly not the word police. I’d fail a middle school English test.
Jose Abreu off the board

This guy is so hilarious. He has to be a paid shill getting about $1.50 a tweet from the M's PR dept. I swear to God the M's could trade Julio for Miguel Cabrera's last season and he would hype up how much fun it will be to see all of the farewell ceremonies around the league....He has NEVER criticized anything and ALWAYS leaps to their defense whenever anyone is slight critical.

The AAV seems a bit high but not outlandish. Seems like a good sign.
Re: Jose Abreu off the board
Yep, he wasn't my #1 DH/1B target but anyone being critical of that is sour graping it.

I wanted the M's to take a flyer on Abreu but not at 3 years 60 Million. The guy is 36 years old and has already shown a decline in power. He might have another good season in him but by year 3 he is going to be dead weight. The Cheatos are using him to replace Guriel who's numbers tanked this season. In 2021 Guriel was at .319/.383/.462. Abreu in 2022 was at .304/.378/.446. I could see a similar drop of the cliff for Abreu as what the they experienced with Guriel.

Not the point. Every time another team makes a move he says they are crazy and doomed. If the M's signed Abreu he would say it was the most brilliant move of the off season. 100% of the time.
