This is huge news that deserves a thread imo. I just don't think we have what it takes without trading Gilbert or Kirby which I am not doing.

Hancock+Miller+Kelenic is a great start.

Then, turns out, the Comp balance pick and the Julio ROY picks are tradeable.

Add one of those picks and it's a pretty competitive package imo.

I dunno about that. They know they are still 2 years away from contending in a best case scenario. I dunno if they would truly want guys already on the main roster. But a package of Kelenic, Ford, Hancock and Brash would have to get their attention I'd think. Values has it 59.9 reynolds to 37.8 for our package so maybe not. But a lot of people still put a lot of stock in Kelenics future and thats a fairly strong package. Would hurt like hell but we have a great draft coming up to restock plus Celestin signing as well. Could reload and thats a hell of a team. Still money left over to sign Senga as well.

I think the best chance of this happening is with a 3 or 4 team trade with the Mariners sending out Flexen and/or Marco, maybe Diego Castillo, maybe Hancock, and maybe JK, along with some other prospect pieces like Dollard, Clase, and Woo. I don't know which teams would be involved or who would get what exactly, but the end result would be a whole bunch of players switching teams and Pittsburgh getting the haul they're probably after. I'm also wondering if the M's would consider moving Ty France in that sort of scenario.
