He isn't holding them back from anything, fucking excuses. The mariners can spend if they want to spend, and if they didn't have the contract would mean spending it on somebody else.

Abs the thing is, it is not like they didn’t see this coming. They had Marco going to the Phillies but then about that time he got blown-up. The Phills traded for Thor instead. 105 ERA+ pre 99 post trade ERA+ vs Marco who was bad 90 ERA+ on the year and the first time he has really been bad as a M.

The thing is I do not see a wat for him to transition to the pen. Flex is the better starter and in the pin he had a sub 2.0 ERA.

The team would be better with Flex in there vs Marco. And the thing is Marco is actually worth what he is owed but just not to the M’s. I am still hoping one of the other teams finds themselves in need of an “inning eater” in ST.

One of my fantasies was to somehow get rid of most of Marco’s and Flexen’s money and sign one of the TORs Verlander, Rodon, etc.

Only hope at this point is that he's like Moyer and has up and down years... meaning '23 will be an up year.

I said it before... never have I seen a guy who routinely throws the ball 90 mph struggle so hard w. command. No idea how one year you can lead the league K/BB at 9.14 and then dip all the way down to 2.06.
