28 Wins and 99 Home Runs!
Wait............................
99 Wins and 28 Home Runs!

Jarred Kelenicin 2023

BA......OBP....SLG....OPS
.250 ~ .320 ~ .420 ~ .740

BB.....K
44....137

Why not? Beats the alternative.

Mariners will have a 7-6 record vs. Houston in the 2023 regular season.
Impossible to hit .250 with 28 HRs and only have a .420 SLG. He would be at about .500 with over an 800 OPS
Not impossible. Far from impossible. Improbable, perhaps. It's my quick pick, off-the-cuff, non-analytical fantasy. Hoping for the good, new, improved, sweetheart Kelenic, not the temperamental, hasn't met anybody's expectations yet, punkass bitch Kelenic.

Here's just one example which begs to differ with "impossible". It's even got plus 7 home runs. However, to reach my guesstimate projection, Kelenic's batting average would need to be lower.

Name...........G.....PA......AB......R.....H.....2B...3B....HR.....RBI....SB...CS....BB....SO......BA......OBP......SLG......OPS
Kyle Seager...159...670.....603....73....128...29....1.....35.....101.....3....1.....59....161..~ .212..~ .285...~ .438...~ .723

Yeah note his terrible BA which is .38 points lower. Also, JK is platooning so he doesn't approach 670 PAs. A good example is Brandon Drury last year with a .263 BA 28 HRs and a .492 Slg%

Sorry to be numbers nerd!! :)

Maybe if JK hits 28 HRs they must have abandoned the platoon in June so he gets ~500 PAs.

If he hits .250 that is 125 hits. So maybe 67 singles, 25 doubles, 5 triples and 28 HRs.

Total bases would be (67 + (2x25 = 50) + (3 x 5 = 15) + (4 x 28 = 112) ) = 244

SLG % = 244/500 = .488 SLG%

All noted. All understood. I stated his b.a. would need to be lower. We could both pick out 100's of examples; the points is, with the right combo, he could hit my numbers on the nose, do far better and most probably will do far worse. Sheesh, anal nitpicking is not my forte. Come on, Jarred, have an .800 OPS. We'll all be astonished and giddy. Suarez was .791 and Julio had .853 last year. Get to that stratosphere and that will be delightful.

I actually think the .720 OPS predication is a good one but his BA will be close to Seager's and his OBP will be sub .300 so something like .210/.290/.430

*The tie breaker was meant so that people CAN select the same number of wins as someone else.
Oh! Then put me down for 90 and 20.

The only way we break the 100 wins glass ceiling is if we play the A's 80 times this season.

How are you bpj? Haven't seen you around much. Miss your pithy wisdom and wry humor.
Doing great big maple!

Spent the last half of the offseason trying not to pay attention to the Mariners, hoping they'd do the right thing and fill in the obvious holes so they'd be a clear contender.

Instead they just ignored them and made the same old safe, low-cost moves that have resulted in their reign of mediocrity.

Nobody here likes hearing the same drum being beaten over and over so just took some time away.

Hope you guys all had a great offseason, opening day is finally here!

I was thinking we could let everyone pick however many wins they think, and have a tiebreaker question.

Reply with your win prediction and how many homeruns you think Jarred Kelenic will hit at the MLB level in 2023.

Any objections or further suggestions?

Winner gets a $50 cash prize.

Must enter by end of day on 4/7!
Thanks! Saved me $100! :D Wait, I am going to win so only saved me $50! lol
Didn't mean to steal your game! Just saw one hadn't been started so I threw it up. And I don't care about the tie breaker if you guys want to have to pick certain numbers, up to you guys!
