Another starter with a bad first outing to "find it" vs. our crap lineup.

Why do the Cubs' home games start half an hour later than every other East coast team's?
Re: A guaranteed win - My first Game Thread ever - Sea/Chi
Not sure, but maybe because they are on the cusp of a time zone - just barely missing eastern time zone, and barely into central.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 4:46 pmWhy do the Cubs' home games start half an hour later than every other East coast team's?
I used to live in New Brunswick (Canada), and as a kid I remember TV shows being advertised as 7 pm, or 7:30 in Newfoundland...basically a half hour ahead. Same sort of weird time zone jiggery - if you look at a map of Canada you can see how "out there" Newfoundland is.

Chicago is 983 miles from the East coast and is firmly in the Central time zone.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 4:46 pmWhy do the Cubs' home games start half an hour later than every other East coast team's?
Would be like questioning why is Sheridan WY doesn't schedule events the same time as West Coast teams.

Yes Chicago is pretty far from the coast, but isn't it just inside the Eastern time zone?
