Scoring less than half your runners from third with less than 2 outs is a pathetic joke.
That's mostly due to our horrible strike out rate which just kills innings.
Some consistent, reliable, high-average contact-hitters would certainly help.

If we have a guy on 3rd and no outs, I'd rather have a hitter with a .310 batting average at the plate than Trammell with his .560 slugging percentage (and .160 BA).
I am guessing that we have more strike outs than hits as a team. I would be curious to know if our k’s to hits ratio leads the bigs

Here you go;

Hits: 329 (27th in MLB, ie 4th worst behind SD, CLE, DET)
Strikeouts: 415 (equal 27th, ie joint 3rd worse with SF and behind MIN, OAK)

As for the Hits/Strikeout ratio - you might have invented a new Stat so get it trademarked as SOH ratio * but here is the top 5 & bottom 5

* it probably already exists as its a logical way of comparing hitters SO rates, but this is my own calculation of it.

At least we lead the majors in something.

Under the awkward category. If they had hit a solo HR in the ninth to make it 12-4 does the HR hitter dance around with the trident in the dugout like a clown?

I often wonder why guys that throw 95mph don't just toss one in at about 50mph a few times again. No way the hitter is ready to hit it.

Of course. It's all about how you feel. Clubhouse vibe. And after the game is over, they will Gatorade Scotty because he got them one run closer to victory.

At this point, I would like to consider firing Scotty and hiring Morris Buttermaker. Then they can celebrate their loss by spraying each other with beer from stubbies, and it would all look cute and quaint.

What the Mariners did the the A's last night....are they fixed?

LOL
:lol: :lol:

I certainly hope this 4-game series with the A's fixes them, gives them some confidence, but don't have much hope for it. I believe they are too far down the rabbit hole.
