M’s get Luis Urias from red sox

Mariner get Luis Urias from sox, hope we didn’t pay much for him. Not exciting

Updated cost is Isaiah Campbell, don’t think I like this at all, still 2 years of Arb left

Yeah, I don't get this at all. It isn't the end of the world, but Urias is the kind of guy you pick up on waivers for free so I don't really get why you would give up something useful for him.

This is the dumbest fk headed deal ever. We Have this group of players thar are at least as good if not better at the position: Rojas, Haggerty, Moore, Jose C., and not to mention France, and JP.

And Isiah Campbell was a good BP who is cheap and has years of control. Urias is a guy you pick up off non tender and bring him in for depth and "competition" in ST.

This doesn't sound good at all. Maybe there's another deal in the works. He doesn't strike out as much, but he isn't the basestealing threat like Rojas, Moore, Callabaro, and Haggerty.

I prefer Dylan or Caballero to Urias...

I'm guessing other teams are asking about Moore (I would) and Dipoto has never valued him as much as he should have so he will trade him off now.

BAD Fucking trade!
Can you say, Jack Mayfield, Andrew Romine, Taylor Motter (shoulda traded for his wife :P ), Mike Freeman, Danny Espinosa, Kolten Wrong?
Campbell will be a quality reliever (and he's no where near his apex yet) for 10-12 years.

Those Red Sox brass have their glasses clinking in a Boston pub right now as they glug down a few pints of
Spencer Brewery Trappist Ale
Patersbier
ABV: 6.5%
whilst singing the famous, "Bendover da Barrell Dipoto" tavern song.

Sheesh  . If Urias could have a season like he did in '21 (.249 \ .345 \ .445 \ .789 - 23 HRs, 75 RBI's) with the Brewers, then that's an okay. Maybe JD thought he was trading for his brother, 29 y.o. Ramón Urías, Orioles' starting 3Bman who also plays 2B, 1B, & SS. He, at least got a GG in '22.

We'll see, might be an overreaction.

I don't know, the guy has been pretty terrible. Giving up a quality reliever seems strange

Not to be the dark cloud to silver lining guy but he does have some power.
in 2014-2015 he had 0 homers in over 100 games as a 17, & 18-year-old.(Rk-A ball)
2016 he pops for a 850 OPS split between A+ and AAA
2019 He rips a .998OPS in AAA (SD)
2021 (MLB) .249 .345 .445 .789 112OPS+ 23HR
2022 (MLB) .239 .335 .404 .739 108OPS+ 16 HR

But that was in the NL central where there are a ton of hitters parks. That is where we got the midget musketeer from (Wong).

This has to mean they are packing up Moore, Haggerty, Rojas, Caballerro, or reshipping Luis to someone else.

I mean FFS he was a non-tender candidate. And he really only makes us marginally better.

Something that bothers me is that there has been rumors around 3B Geno Saurez. And they could be saying here is a right handed hitter 2B/3B/SS who had shown some pop in small-park-USA. Let's trade Geno and plug-in Luis he is less money. Great move!

I guess he could develop after an injury shortened season in 2023 and he will just be 27 next year.
