ROOT Sports Streaming Service

If ROOT Sports was available online (as an app to watch on your TV and on your computer/mobile device online), would you rather sign up directly with them and cut your cable, or keep your cable/satellite service?

Many of us pay $100+ per month to carry ROOT as a cable package. What would it be worth to you to sign up directly with ROOT?

Great question. Dish dumped Root and made me go Direct tv which sucks. I much rather have the option to pick and choose. Put a championship caliber team on the field and I’d spend $40 a month to watch.

I have had Xfinity Triple play for over 20 years. I obviously don't have Root here but if I moved home I would just sign back up for Xfinity again out of convenience.

I would pay for this in a heart beat. I just tried Fubo. It was very good but I only tried it to get hockey, basketball and In the spring it will be the Mariners. I can use antenna for local channels.

This definitely applies more to the "in market" people who can't stream MLB.tv due to blackouts.

I think the difference is FUBO is just like signing up for another streaming service comparable to cable. It does look slightly cheaper at $75/mo.

I don't use cable TV other than ROOT when I have cable, so anything less than the $100/mo. the cable costs seems like a better deal to me, was just curious what you guys thought given the predicament the team is in with ROOT being moved to a sports tier by some providers.

If they just offered ROOT as a standalone product, are you a buyer?

In my opinion it would be like firing back at the cable provider. You want to put us in an $18 tier? Then we'll just sell a streaming option for $10 and our customers won't need your service...

Something like that...

I'm out of market anyhow but if it was cheaper than mlb subscription I'd be interested.
I only watch the Mariners.

At 93/mo Fubo is simply too expensive if you're only interested in Mariners games.

I only need football & Zags BBall. Other than that, I'm good. Hulu don't even carry'em. One less cost to worry about. Not that I watch much TV to begin with.
