Fine I guess.

That's a lot of money to give out for a guy who hasn't played more than 102 games in a season and has averaged more like 70-90 games a year for his career. He also has been absolutely dreadful in his career at T-Mobile. 0 for 31 with 2 walks.

Hopefully they don't catch him much and he can basically full time DH so he can play well over 100 games.

I'm thinking he catches about 50 games and DH's 100. When he isn't DHing Jerry can get his rotational DH fix or go with Cal.

$12M is not a lot for him. He has put up an average of over 2 WAR the past 4 seasons excluding 2020 even with missing all that time.

I'm not a fan of Garver at all.

I would have preferred Murphy+Ford for half the price.

If Garver is their 3rd best addition it will be fine, but if he's the main addition, it's pretty blah.

Their Away stats in 2023:

Definitely an upgrade offense wise over Tom Murphy. But a step back defensively. I guess that's why we got that other Catcher who can't hit. Plus he hits right handed.

What makes him an upgrade offensively?

But he is a massive upgrade over Seby. Weird that they went with an injury prone guy though after parting ways with Murphy for that reason.

We now just need two more OFers and we should be good to go.
