I don't mind this. Mitch can be the RH platoon bat with the lefty kids which might keep him healthy. ADS will be the 5th starter to back fill for Woo or Miller.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic confirms the deal and adds that the Mariners are working on a separate trade with the Rays. Rosenthal adds that the second trade will involve outfielder Luke Raley going to the Mariners in exchange for José Caballero, but that deal isn’t complete. He also adds that the M’s are getting cash in the deal. Per Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic, it’s approximately $3MM going to Seattle in order to make the deal cash neutral. The Mariners have now announced that they have sent Ray to the Giants for Haniger, DeSclafani and cash considerations.

This is just another bleh move - Descl sucks. We know what Hanniger is and we were happy to move on from him. I think we sold too low on Ray. Its obviously money clearing but why not wait a year and see how he comes back and then sell when he's worth more? The Giants gave up nothing for him and taking a gamble that he returns to form and assuming he does, as most pitchers do from this surgery so spare me all the no-guarantee peeps, they get a good pitcher and we got peanuts for him. The moves this team has made this offseason has just been awful to say the least.
