Canzone, meanwhile, has quietly been one of Seattle’s most productive spring performers -- now 9-for-30 with three doubles, nine RBIs, nine strikeouts, two walks and three homers, tied for the team high...

Specifically, it’s with two strikes -- like Monday’s homer -- that the Mariners believe Canzone can take his biggest step forward, beyond the power potential after he added 15 pounds of muscle this offseason...

“His swing decisions so far in Spring Training are the best they've been for him, ever,” Mariners manager Scott Servais said recently. “Hopefully he can maintain that throughout the season because when he swings [at] the right pitches, good things happen

Even better than when he hit .353 in Reno? I don't get the hyperbole. Why didn't he just say since he got here since there is zero chance SS watched any of his pre Mariner Swing decisions...

Am watching the Jays game today in honor of my dad.

Daniel Vogelbach is fighting for a roster spot, and he just went yard for a solo shot. It was classic Vogey - short, compact, swatting swing.

https://www.mlb.com/gameday/747885/vide ... -of-spring

It was just nice to see Vogey smacking homers again.

Oh - and they're playing Atlanta with Kelenic and his .071 BA hitting in the 9 hole.

My God JK is 3-43 vs. Spring Training pitching. I didn't think he would be good but he is back in a death spiral again...

They have done well with hitters and IMO thought they could fix him. The cost was nothing other then money for most part

What they bought was five years of control, they haven't had time to fix him yet.

LOL yeah I am sure they will spend 2, 3, 4 or 5 seasons trying to "fix" a guy that can't hit.
