Bullpen issues already?

I apologize if this has been mentioned, but Brash potentially missing significant time seems worthy of it's own thread.

This showed up in another thread but you're right - maybe we ought to give it its own thread.

I am bracing myself for the worst. The fact that the M's have been mum about this for the last 2 days and are scheduling a press release today to explain what happened and what the outlook is suggests the worst. I'm thinking he's out for the season.

He was a key piece to this year's bullpen with a back end that looked like one of the best in baseball. If Brash is out for the entire season, that is significant. A lot of the good guys have gone in free agency, and I don't think Jerry has any trades lined up. The only notable arm left in free agency is Ryne Stanek. He's not Matt Brash, but he might fill the hole, and he is likely available on a one year deal.

TJ surgery is the cost of doing business. It sucks but every team is dealing with it

That's the best non-answer, non-response I have ever read.

Who's the answer? I don't see it as an excuse, pitching injuries are something that have to be planned for, it's all about depth. The mariners traded for Santos, need to rearrange their leverage guys

Matt Brash cleared to begin throwing next week.
Has medial elbow inflammation.
May not be ready to start the season but this is positive news.

There ya go, medial elbow inflammation. Doesn't change the fact you have to be prepared to lose pitchers to injury

The prognosis doesn't change the vacuousness of your response.

It was essentially "shit happens" which, frankly, you could cut and paste in for a response to every thread on this board.

That's all.

Terms of MLB and pitching injuries, yeah, it is shit happens. Don't know how else to look at it, it's about planning for them. Its about depth
