Had a down year last season but almost unhittable in 2021-22. Very encouraging that they agree with me that the Pen is an issue right now.

All the dopes speculating that the only reason we signed Stanek is because 9+ ERA guy might be injured. Certainly couldn't be due to Brash or Santos being injured.

Good stuff. In another thread I suggested Stanek might be a good get on a 1 year deal - but I said this when I was panicky about Brash being out for a year. Still, he's a hard throwing, and still serviceable setup guy. He just throws the shit out of it and hopes for the best - his fastball averaged 98 mph last year, but his strikeout rate was league average?

Love the mullet and 'stache. He's got the Danny McBride, Eastbound and Down look going on. As my father would say, he can throw a fastball through a barndoor, but looks like he's about as sharp as a sack of wet mice.

Nice vid on Stanek by my buddy and fellow East Coast M's fan.

Seems like a great addition to me. Hoping last year turns out to be an outlier.

I can hardly believe it. This is actually a really good move.

Just glancing at his stats, it looks like the home run ball spiked for him last year, which may just be a statistical outlier, but even if it isn't his new home park should help mitigate that.

That was my exact reaction. An org acting like winning is more important than money.

SPD might head to T Mobile for a welfare check to make sure Jerry and Stanton aren't being held hostage in a closet by some pissed off fan who was the one who who actually signed him!

Wow! A mega deal.
