Re: Where’s the offense GT 4/3
Stats vs. opposing pitchers are completely worthless. Some guy on X was all excited about JP being 6-9 vs. Bieber and was just sure he was going to have a big game. He went 0-5 and looked like shit.
First of all it is just a microscopic meaningless sample and secondly do ya think Beiber might remember JP killing him in the past and might do something a little differently.
Allen is a Lefty and was decent last season with a 3.81 ERA but if we can't hit guys like this we are just fucked again this season.

One exception is Edgar vs. Mariano. He was so good against him and faced him so many times that it was a small but not tiny sample. Clear he wasn't fooled by the cutter...

Re: Where’s the offense GT 4/3
I guess it was smaller than I thought:
Against Rivera, he went 11-for-19 with three doubles and two home runs. The other 19 hall-of-famers who hit against Rivera combined for a .236 batting average, .335 slugging percentage and three home runs (Jim Thome, Ivan Rodriguez and Ken Griffey Jr. each hit one).

While meaningless I will throw it up there, note this isn’t the lineup as it isn’t out yetD-train wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 1:48 pmI guess it was smaller than I thought:

Re: Where’s the offense GT 4/3
Remember when everyone freaked out the last couple weeks of the season when we rolled out a dog shit lineup vs. LHPs. How is the bottom third here any better???

Sure I wasn't saying not to. It is interesting to see especially how many times guys have faced each other.desbcoach wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 3:30 pmWhile meaningless I will throw it up there, note this isn’t the lineup as it isn’t out yetIMG_0181.pngD-train wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 1:48 pmI guess it was smaller than I thought:

Here's some fun stats:
Mookie Betts is currently hitting .500/.605/1.167/1.772 with 5 home runs 11 RBI, 8 walks, 4 K's in 38 plate appearances. He has been worth 1.4 fWAR in just 8 games.
The Mariners currently sit at 4 home runs. They are now 28th in baseball with a .561 OPS.

Here's another fun one:
His current OPS is nearly double what I predicted for the season. Good thing there’s 156 more games to prove me right.
