I wanted Snell, and he wanted to pitch for the Mariners. If we'd signed him and he didn't get a late start to spring training and thus injured, he's putting up Cy Young Award numbers for us. Even with our staff, he would have put us over the top, plus we could've traded for hitting although it would have meant giving up Miller or Woo.

I wonder what the MLB record is for the closest string of ERAs in a pitcher's first 3 seasons. I doubt anyone is really even close to this.
