Sad day. My baseball hero has gone to the to Great Hall of Fame in the Sky. Thanks for being a lifelong inspiration to me, Rocky.

Had a great career with a bWAR of 44.9, they stuck it to him on defensive metrics so he's realistically at least a 50 guy. If he hadn't pooped out at 33 he probably gets in.

Crazy that as the 1960 season was about to start the Indians traded him to the Tigers for Harvey Kuenn who'd been the AL batting champion that year. That's kind of like suddenly trading Pete Alonso for Luis Arraez.

There's almost no footage of him, although I found some on YouTube hitting a home run in 1965. Networks were so stupid in the old days.
