the article says it's just a visit - is there a link that claims they signed him?

I watched him with the Jets.
He has/had talent but wasn't very consistent.
I like him as a backup tho.
Still hoping we go for another proven vet receiver.

Needing a vet backup QB, let Paxton Lynch and Geno Smith duke it out.
I really like Taryn Christion and hope he can understudy Russell on the practice squad.
Maybe I'm just a sucker for a good story:
Apr 3, 2019 Emory Hunt

What if I told you there’s a quarterback prospect in the 2019 NFL Draft who owns seven school career passing records, six single-season passing records, has twice been named All-America and All-Conference, and led his team to victory in 75 percent of the games in which he played?

Ok, what if I added that this player was a finalist for the Walter Payton Award for three consecutive years—and, for good measure, he was also a finalist for the Williams V. Campbell Trophy, otherwise known as the academic Heisman?
That should be enough, right? Not yet?

What if, as the icing on the proverbial cake, I told you that the same player capped off his spectacular collegiate career with an outstanding performance in a postseason all-star event attended by over 140 scouts?
This is no hypothetical. That player exists.

Meet Taryn Christion, a 6-1, 225-pound signal caller from Sioux Falls, S.D., who amassed over 11,000 passing yards at 8.5 yards per attempt, with 104 passing touchdowns against just 34 interceptions while starring for South Dakota State.
Christion was able to do damage on the ground as well, finishing with over 1,500 rushing yards with 26 rushing touchdowns.

Ouch. You had me all hot and bothered with that write-up then you pull out the rug. :(

So is that Canadian dude still on the roster?

Geno Smith sucks!!!

Hopefully they can find better competition for the back up position than this! Maybe they make a trade.

If RW survived the 2017 season with the garbage O line we had without missing any time he is clearly invincible so I am more concerned about the back up cheerleaders than the back up QB.

He never was signed on, he had an invitation to camp. From this article, apparently Pete was not impressed at mini camp, so they're looking elsewhere.
