MM has been feet away from both Harbaugh HCs for YEARS. He knows how to be a HC. Comparing Superstar college PLAYERs to College coaches in terms of adapting to the NFL is beyond asinine.
I thought the article was pretty good actually. The writer points out that McDonald is likely inheriting better
players overall than Pete did in 2010. It is true that we don't really know how great this new coaching staff
will be. It's as big or bigger a question mark than the players. The overall tone of the article was positive,
which you might not know if you only read the quote Donn pasted.

I respect fiellgulls opinion. I think they are generally knowledgeable, i don't think they try to be either overly negative or ra ra positive.

Not sure I would call this shade but Reed finds it refreshing. Who doesn't?

Hopefully that means they're moving him off of nose tackle.

Yep, seems like just a slapstick patchwork D line last season...

In Baltimore MacDonald had a very good NT in 6'0" 355 lb Michael Pierce and one of the best 3-4 DEs in Justin Madubuike. Even with Murphy he is dealing with a pretty big downgrade on DL here in Seattle.

Jesus, I was doing research on Obesity drugs for a possible job. You need to have a BMI of at least 30 to be eligible to get on the drugs.

I am 5'11" 220lb and that is 30.7 so I am eligible. Pierce's BMI is 48.1. That is so unhealthy. I wonder if that ever becomes a health concern with football like concussions...

Yeah there are no delusions we will be good as the Ravens historically good Defense. Just going from horrid to average would be a huge upgrade though.

Other than eating a lot of food he probably has a lifestyle that is far healthier than the average person. I read something years ago about sumo wrestlers being even more extreme with regard to packing on weight and that a normal human being would have a massive heart attack or stroke if they ate like them but they train so rigorously that they are able to get away with it. I'm sure though that Pierce will drop at least 100 lbs after he retires or will be dead by 50.

The only thing that then needs to be done is in game decisions like clock management, challenge flags and when to go for it or not. Things PC was horrible at. I am willing to bet MM will be better at it.
Yes! This stuff drove us all crazy. Throwing a flag with no chance of being overturned, costing us a time out. No clue as to the clock.
