PC had final say on EVERYTHING football in Seattle. But even if we were to pretend that JS had acquired Adams all on his own, it's still Carroll who ultimately decides how he's going to utilize Adams.

You quoted this earlier:

"The front office reportedly had other ideas than Carroll when the team gave up a first-round pick as well as a third-round choice in 2021, a first-round pick in 2022, and safety Bradley McDougald. Seattle got Adams and a 2022 fourth-round choice back in return. Adams had been a First-Team All-Pro safety for the New York Jets in 2019, but general manager John Schneider and many in the front office wanted Adams to move to linebacker so he could be closer to the line of scrimmage.

But Schneider and the front office were ultimately powerless to have any control over where Carroll played Adams. The result of Carroll stubbornly sticking with Adams at safety affected the player- the injuries he did suffer, of which there were many, one could argue was the cause of him playing more in space as a safety than he would have had as a linebacker - and the defense overall."

That's what I'm saying, Pete used him as a safety, the position he was voted first team all pro. JS by that writers estimation wanted to trade a pair of first round draft picks and be prepared to make him one of the highest paid safeties in order to move him to a different position, that seems odd to me.

The thing about his being more prone to injury as a safety is total nonsense in my estimation

Except Adams was a first team all pro as a safety which is how he was utilized. Doesn't it seem a little odd to pay the price in draft capital and contact cost they did for Adams with the intention of changing his position?
Nine and a half sacks got him All Pro. He played at the LOS in New York as well. The problem was so obvious, but most Seahawk fans, and guys like Hugh Millen, blamed Adams! In obvious passing situations, we left KJ AND Bobby on the field, then blitzed Adams. You do the math…that is a 4 3 defense since it only leaves 4 DBs covering receivers!

KJ or Bobby had to come off the field for another DB. Instead? Guys like Millen wasted hours breaking down Adams’ blitzes and the passes completed behind him…even tho most of those were because a LB was in coverage because the scheme was dogshit!

We acted as tho the only successful blitz was a sack. Rushing the throw is usually just as good. How many times did Russ throw it away in 3rd down? We’d rush a throw and the completion would happen immediately because we sucked in coverage and played soft!

Will he get his first sack since 2020 this season?

There were articles talking about all the different positions he played while in New York. He was an All Pro Safety because he was listed as a Safety, not because he played all his snaps at Safety. That was Pete’s idea, and also the end of him being an All Pro.

As a Jet
He played 21 snaps as a linebacker, 17 as an edge-defender, 16 at safety and three at cornerback, according to Pro Football Focus.

As a Seahawk
.Adams played 45 defensive snaps (85%). But what was interesting was how Seahawks defensive coordinator Clint Hurtt moved him around the field.

According to Next Gen Stats, Adams played 17 snaps as a deep safety, four snaps as an edge player, 14 snaps aligned as a linebacker and 10 snaps aligned as a slot defender.
And if they had changed his position to linebacker it would have given Adams even more ammunition in their contact negotiations, that would seem an odd thing to do
The franchise tag represents a one-year tender worth no less than the average of a position's five greatest salaries. Historically, the top-paid linebackers have earned significantly more than the top-paid safeties.
